The government has removed all restrictions on the use of military force to stop the new round of Palestinian terrorist attacks on Israelis. Israeli army units have been seen moving to the Gaza border. The Palestinian terrorists believe that the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza next month was only possible because of terrorist attacks. So do many Israelis. But the Israeli government and the Palestinian authority have agreed that the Israeli settlements would be evacuated, along with Israeli troops, if the Palestinians could keep peace in Gaza, and not allow terrorists to make any attacks into Israel. As a result, Israel has told the Palestinian Authority to stop the Palestinian terrorists, or Israeli military and police forces would enter Gaza and stop the terrorism, and destroy any Palestinian Authority forces that got in the way. The Palestinian police have been skirmishing with the Palestinian terrorists, but have not gone after the terrorists energetically enough to stop the attacks against Israel.
