 A survey of Palestinians showed that were dissatisfied with Yassir Arafat's performance, while 47.2 percent were satisfied. But 61.4 percent thought the Palestinian Authority was doing a bad job, while 36.1 percent thought it was doing well. When asked who they trusted most; Arafat came in first with a 26.1 percent, followed by  Hamas spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin (11.2 percent) and Hamas political leader Abdelaziz Rantissi (4.4 percent). When asked which political organization they trusted most, Arafat's Fatah got 29.3 percent, followed by  22.6 percent for Hamas and 5.4 percent for Islamic Jihad.
