In Gaza, a roadside bomb went off as a convoy of American diplomats and their security personnel went by. Three American security men were killed. None of the diplomats were injured. The diplomats were on their way to interview Palestinian candidates for Fullbright scholarships to study in the United States. No one took responsibility for the attack and all the major terrorist groups denounced it. It is possible that Palestinian terrorists set off the bomb by accident, although the vehicles were clearly marked as American. However, there was a similar incident three months ago, but no one was hurt. However, many Palestinian terrorists are hostile to the US, believing that America supports Israel. But the US is hostile to the terrorists, and has been cracking down on terrorist fund raising in the US and elsewhere. Moreover, many Palestinians look to the US as the only nation that could coerce Israel to make peace with Palestinians on Palestinian terms. But the terrorists don't want a peace deal, they want to destroy Israel, and some want to drive all non-Moslems out of the Middle East. This would include Arab Christians. Centuries of Moslem hostility to Arab Christians has been responsible for Arab Christians leaving the region. Most Arab Americans are Christian for that reason.

The death toll for over three years of violence is now 3,542 (75 percent of them Palestinians.)
