The government's hard line in dealing with the Palestinians has earned it the approval of  53 percent of the population.

A large fire fight battle broke out in a West Bank Palestinian refugee camp between troops and Palestinian gunmen. A large army bulldozer was seen moving into the area. While the Palestinians have agreed to the cease fire and peace talks, there are many radical Palestinian factions that have refused to participate in the peace process and openly vow to fight on and destroy Israel. This attitude often brings forth a violent response from Israeli troops and police.
