There have been five suicide bombings in the last 48 hours. This, and other attacks, are seen as the response of Palestinian extremists (who insist that Israel be destroyed) to new peace proposals. The attacks have, since April 30, has left 12 Israelis and over 50 Palestinians dead. The latest suicide attacks against Israeli civilians caused the government to reverse earlier easing of access of Palestinians to Israeli territory.
