: 10.0pt"> Hizbollah in Lebanon fired mortars and 107mm rockets at Israeli positions in the Shebaa Farms area.  Syria is encouraging Hizbollah to attack Israel. But Iran, which supplies money, weapons and volunteers to keep Hizbollah going, wants fewer attacks on Israel. 

In northern Israel, police intercepted a car bomb operation, seizing and destroying a car carrying 660 pounds of explosives. The four Palestinians in the car got away.
