The Israeli navy has gone to war with the Palestinian Authority navy. An overnight attack on the Palestinian Authority naval base left two Palestinian Authority naval police boats destroyed and shore facilities damaged by Israeli missiles. Last weeks capture of an Iranian ship carrying weapons, and the killing of four Israeli troops by Palestinian naval police a few days later have brought about an escalating series of attacks. There are still talks between low level  Palestinian and Israeli security officials, but not a lot of progress.
