Israel continues its policy of selective attacks on Palestinian radical leaders. The most common weapon is the nine ton AH-64D Apache helicopter gunship. Israel has the latest Longbow fire control system for the AH-64, which enables the gunship to operate at night. Using a 30mm automatic cannon and up to 16 Hellfire missiles. The 108 pound Hellfire is American built. It is laser guided and Israeli pilots have gotten so good that they regularly put Hellfires through windows. Normally, the Hellfire carries an anti-tank warhead, but photos of Hellfires exploding in anti-terrorist attacks seem to indicate that a high explosive warhead is used for these operations. The Hellfire reaches a top speed of 400 meters a second and has a maximum range of some eight kilometers and a minimum range of 500 meters.
