A bomb exploded in a town north of Tel Aviv. There were apparently few injuries. In retaliation for attacks on settlers and bombings, Israeli helicopter gunships made numerous attacks throughout Gaza. Some 60 Palestinians were wounded. Israeli tanks attacked Palestinian Force 17 headquarters at Ramallah. Force 17, a 3,500 man Palestinian paramilitary force, is seen by Israel as a major instigator of violence against Israelis.  There was also heavy gunfire heard at Nablus. The new Sharon government has decided to retaliate big time against Palestinian violence. Palestinian mortar fire hit an Israeli settlement in Gaza, wounding two civilians.
