Peace talks between Palestinians and Israel continue, but the progress is very slow and ultimately uncertain. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority executed (after hasty trials) two Palestinians for collaborating with the Israelis (to help assassinate Palestinian officials and military leaders.) Normally, the Palestinian Authority does not use the death penalty, but  these cases are considered wartime situations. Many more Palestinians have been killed without benefit of any legal proceedings
