Israeli warplanes launched seven attacks on Hezbollah positions.
September 17; Israeli warplanes attacked Hezbollah positions after Hezbollah attacked Israeli positions in South Lebanon..
September 12; The government plans to use the continuing transfer of territorial control to Palestinians to establish a physical separation of the two populations. This would greatly reduce the number of terrorist attacks in Israel, and continued tension between Palestinians and Israelis. But first the two sides must come to terms over how do deal with control of Jerusalem.
September 10; The UN is trying to get one of Israel's weapons declared in violation of the Geneva Conventions. The weapon is a flechette shell fired by the 120mm gun on Israeli tanks. The shell explodes 500 meters over the target, showering the ground below with 8-12 thousand five centimeter (two inch) steel darts. The flechettes cover a circular area roughly 500 meters from the shell. Civilians are often killed or injured when they are near a target under Israeli fire. In 1993, a UN official was killed. The Israelis regularly use the shells in south Lebanon.
