In Baghdad, two suicide car bombs were driven at high speed towards a hotel housing senior Iraqi officials and many Americans. The hotel defenses stopped the car bombs from going off close enough to the hotel to do major damage. The two men driving the cars died, along with six Iraqis. Many more bystanders were injured.
