The Multinational Interception Force (MIF) continues to chase down and seize ships violating the UN oil embargo against Iraq. The MIF has 4-6 ships on average. Most of them are British or American, but ships from all 17 nations in the coalition participate from time to time. So far this year, the MIF has questioned 771 ships, boarded 394 and seized 19. Last year, 629 ships were boarded and 82 seized.
