US efforts to convince the Gulf Cooperation Council to build a regional missile defense system (buying US technology and weapons to build it with) are finding few takers. Kuwait is very interested, but the rest of the region regards Iraq as little threat and would prefer a political rapprochement with Iran to building an expensive defense against Iran's missile arsenal. --Stephen V Cole
