Most Iranians oppose al Qaeda and are in favor of America invading Iraq. The Islamic fundamentalist minority (about 20-30 percent of the population) take an opposing view. Thus the US gets cooperation from most government and military officials, and interference from Islamic radicals who can counteract any Iranian government decision or act.
