Iran has not slowed work on its nuclear weapons program since the election of a moderate government two years ago. They are furiously buying nuclear-related technology anywhere they can, including dozens of companies in the former Soviet Union. Technical problems have apparently delayed Iran's intercontinental ballistic missile program. The CIA now doubts that Iran could launch such a missile by 2006.--Stephen V Cole
