The unrest in .Khoramabad is symptomatic of the divisions throughout the nation. Students are most active in the pro-reform groups, and education is generally the one thing the conservative, Islamic fundamentalists lack. The more ambitious Iranians seek education and economic and political reforms. The fundamentalists want no change. Increasingly, the result is violence.
