Ten ships have been seized in Iranian waters on suspicion of smuggling oil from Iraq. Iran has not cracked down on this activity before and the current actions are apparently in response to continued Iraqi support of Iranian rebels. On the Afghan border, a major battle between troops and Afghan smugglers left 23 of the Afghans dead.
