Indonesia moved heavy artillery into rebel areas of Aceh and in the afternoon, security forces killed six rebels in two separate clashes in Woyla and Cot Punti in West Aceh. One of the six is believed to be a local rebel commander. 

Heavily-guarded convoys trucked food, fuel and other essentials into Aceh, since drivers had stopped running between Banda Aceh and Medan (in neighboring North Sumatra province) after numerous arson attacks on vehicles and death threats. A typical convoy consisting of 13 trucks, about 10 minibuses and several military and police vehicles (including one armored car) left Banda Aceh for Medan to pick up supplies. - Adam Geibel
