The army has discharged 20 soldiers and punished an entire infantry battalion in Aceh. This is the aftermath of a September 29th incident where soldiers attacked a police station because one of their soldier friends had been arrested for drug dealing. Five officers from the infantry battalion were transferred. The army blames it all on an Aceh "troublemaker" who joined the army with false papers and instigated the attack. In fact, the major problem with the army is a lack of training and discipline. Corruption among officers is common and leadership poor.
