Bowing to army and police demands, Islamic militiamen in the Malukus have surrendered a large quantity of weapons (one cannon, 250 bombs,
100 gasoline bombs, four army rifles, 15 homemade guns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, swords and bayonets.) The government agreed to investigate the Christian militias as well. In Papua, 43 OPM separatists surrendered to the police. The OPM men said they had grown tired of living in the bush and accomplishing nothing.
