India and Bangladesh disagree over who is at fault for the weapons smuggling that is arming separatist rebels in northeast India. The weapons are, India claims, coming from Bangladesh, and the Bangladeshi government is doing nothing to stop the gunrunning. Corruption in Bangladesh is believed the cause. 

Violence has subsided in Kashmir, with the Winter weather. However, six Indian troops were killed in an avalanche of snow, a typical risk for troops operating in the high country this time of year.
