India-Pakistan: December 5, 2004

Pakistani President, Pervez Musharraf, says that his troops on the Afghan border have come up dry when looking for clues to where Osama bin Laden is. American officials will not admit to having any leads either. Earlier this year, American commanders spoke confidently of catching bin Laden this year. But the trail has grown cold. Actually, throughout the border area, where bin laden is thought to be hiding, most Afghans, and Pakistani tribesmen are hunkered down for Winter. Although it's relatively warm in the lowlands, up in the mountains, its very cold and nasty. Not the kind of weather you want to be wandering around in.

Maoist rebels in eastern India killed two civilians when they attacked the headquarters of a construction company. Maoists attack businesses they believe are exploiting workers, or who refuse to pay extortion money to the rebels.
