  In eastern India, police killed three tribal separatists. Two Chinese made pistols and a two way short wave radio were captured. The dead were from the ULFA, which operates out of bases in Bhutan.

While India and Pakistan are stalemated over the issue of violence in Kashmir, they have agreed to negotiate a resumption of air traffic between their two countries. The links were severed in December, 2001, after Islamic radicals attacked the Indian parliament.
