In eastern India, communist rebels murdered a businessman.

In Pakistan, along the Afghan border, Pakistani troops are encountering armed resistance from local tribesmen who do not want government interference in their affairs (especially smuggling and drug dealing). The Pakistani troops are their to look for Taliban and al Qaeda, which are considered minor matters by the tribesmen. The important stuff involves money and that's worth fighting for.
