The leader of Kashmiri rebel organizations want no part of negotiations between Pakistan and India over Kashmirs status and vow to continue fighting until Kashmir is all Moslem and free of India. Pakistan has outlawed most of the Kashmir rebel groups, but they still operate across the border in Pakistani territory. In Kashmir, rebel violence left six dead. 

A pair of terrorists on a motor cycle drove through Karachi, Pakistan, tossing large firecrackers at 18 gasoline stations owned by European companies. Damage was minor, and the attack was thought to be the work of not-very-bright terrorists.
