 Violence in Kashmir left four dead. India continues to refuse peace talks with Pakistan until Pakistan stops the cross border movement of Islamic militants into Indian Kashmir. Pakistan, facing growing popularity for Islamic radicals, cannot crack down on the camps in Pakistani Kashmir. The Islamic radicals are more popular in Pakistan because the feudal, corrupt political and economic system does nothing for most people. India enacted economic reforms to eliminate a lot of these problems after the British left in the late 1940s. But Pakistan did not, and is now facing the possibility of a wide ranging revolution, led by Islamic radicals, to resolve the problem.
