India-Pakistan: February 4, 2003

In Kashmir, seven died in rebel related violence.

Indian and Pakistani artillery exchanged fire along the Line of Control, leaving two Pakistani civilians wounded.

In northeastern Pakistan, army and police have arrested some 440 al Qaeda suspects. Also, American FBI and CIA agents have interrogated several Pakistani doctors who apparently treated al Qaeda. Rumors indicate many Arabs are  still hiding out in remote villages along the Afghan border. But the rumors are unreliable, and when US Special Forces troops or CIA agents investigate, they find that the rumor was put in play by someone who wanted the Americans to bomb a Pakistani enemy.

On the Bangladesh border, more Indian troops arrived to help with plans to removed twenty million illegal migrants from Bangladesh. But Bangladesh does not want these people back and might oppose India's plan with military force.
