Another US UAV recon aircraft (probably a Predator) crashed near an airbase in southern Pakistan.
Pakistan announced that it would withdraw most of the 300,000 troops it had massed on the Indian border. Both nations have found the expense in keeping these troops away from their barracks (especially in Winter). India estimates that ten months of such deployment has cost India $400 million (some $500 per soldier). Moreover, the morale of the troops has taken a large hit, again, especially in the Winter, because of the more primitive living conditions along the border.
