A separatist politician in Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Lone, was killed by unidentified gunmen. One of his bodyguards was also killed. Lone was unpopular with hard core separatists because he advocated negotiations with India over the separatism issue, so radical groups are suspected of killing him.
