In Kashmir, rebel activity left 11 rebels, one soldier and three civilians dead. In one incident, a rebel barricaded himself in a mosque and refused to surrender. This is the fifth such siege this year, in all cases the rebels in the mosque fight to the death. In Pakistan, the police, aided by American intelligence officials, conducted a number of raids and arrested sixty people, half of whom appear to be foreigners.
