Violence in Kashmir left one soldier, three rebels and two civilians dead. In Pakistan it is believed that some 30 percent of the 10,000 Pakistanis that went into Afghanistan to support the Taliban have not returned. Some may be held prisoner, but most are believed to have died. Many of those who did return spoke of heavy casualties from American bombing.
