Kashmiri rebels launched several attacks in urban areas of Kashmir, throwing grenades and shooting at Hindu pilgrims moving through Kashmir. The Hizbul Mujahideen urged the government to get peace talks started and to include the Mutihadda Jihad Council (MJC) and Pakistan. However, many members of the MJC are violently opposed to such talks.
