In the capital, police captured the local FARC leader, Eladio Diaz Artunduaga. Police and the army have become more successful capturing rebel leaders, as more people lose their fear of the rebel terror. But as the army and police drive rebels out of towns and city neighborhoods, many of the liberated civilians still fear that the rebels will return. It will take several years before all Colombians lose this fear of rebel retribution.
