FARC, AUC and the army all blamed each other for the death of nearly a 100 civilians in a church. It appears that FARC used their favorite technique, a gas cylinder bomb, against the church while fighting AUC for control of the town pf Bojaya on the Pacific coast. Some 300 civilians had fled to the church to avoid the fighting. FARC is generally hostile to religion. Only in the last few days have troops been able to get into the area.
