For the past four days, some 6,000 local civilians have blocked roads in the area the government plans to turn over to the ELN as a demilitarized zone. The civilians don't want to be ruled by the left wing rebels. The government accuses the demonstrators of being pawns of the right wing militias and drug lords, but have agreed to talk to the leaders of the demonstration, and send troops in case that doesn't work.
