China has announced details of two new unmanned recon drones. The W30 is 2m long with a wingspan of 5m. It has a maximum take-off weight of 18kg, including a 5kg payload. The W30 is powered by a 2.8hp engine, has a level speed of 150km/hour, and has a mission radius of 10km. The larger W50 is 3.2m long with a wing span of 4m. Take-off weight is 95kg, including a 20kg payload. The 35hp engine provides a speed of 180km/hr and a mission radius of 100km. The W50 has an advanced datalink with an autonomous GPS navigation system.--Stephen V Cole
