MDJT reported that their men clashed with the army in the north earlier in the week, leaving 60 soldiers and four rebels dead. The government admits that there was some fighting, but did not mention casualties. This would be the first breech of the the ceasefire signed last January. The rebels say the army attacked an MDJT base, while the government says the rebels attacked an army supply convoy. The latter sounds more likely, as the MDJT has been divided by factional differences since April. This has stalled peace talks. MDJT was founded by northerners who had been on the losing side of an earlier civil war.
