In the south, a small rebel group, the National Salvation Committee for Peace and Democracy (CNSPD), announced that it had renounced the July 17 ceasefire agreement with the government. Several hours after this, CNSPD attacked a truck full of people, killing two, wounding six, and stealing some $8,500 from the passengers. The CNSPD operates around the oil fields in the south and is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between rebels and bandits.
