Serbias presidential November 16 election failed to produce a winner. Only 40 percent of registered voters participated. 50 percent is required for the election to be valid. A bad sign: the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), an ultra-nationalist organization, did well among those who voted. The SRS was a Milosevic ally. The election will be rescheduled.
Bosnian leaders said that the US should think twice about withdrawing all US forces from Bosnia. The Bosnian government is considering sending peacekeepers to Iraq as a way to convince the US to keep some forces in Bosnia. The Bosnians see the US as honest brokers, and the most reliable of peacekeepers.
