SFOR peacekeepers reported a major raid on a Bosnian Serb military barracks. The raid took place in the town of Foca. The barracks area also reportedly included military intelligence offices. SFOR said 20 of its vehicles were involved in what began as "an unannounced inspection." There was no information on what was found --or not found. SFOR conducts these kind of operations for several reasons. The first is to keep the locals aware that SFOR is watching for violations of the Dayton Accords, specifically in the area of hiding illegal arms. The second and more tricky reason is to catch war crimes suspects and even would-be terrorists.
