The Macedonian government reported it military and paramilitary police forces attacked a group described as armed ethnic Albanian militants. The attack took place near the village of Brest (near Kosovo border).

UNMIK reported a Kosovo police officer was shot and killed in the town of Djakovica. The man was an Albanian Kosovar assigned to the Kosovo Police Service. The Kosovo Police Service has around 5000 officers. The organization is supposed to ultimately replace UNMIK.
