On August 6 Croatia protested that Slovenian fishing boats were illegally entering Croat waters in Piran Bay (Istrian peninsula). Slovenia responded by saying the charges were false. A second sea border incident occurred August 8 when Slovenian fishing boats entered Croat water in Piran Bay. The Croatian coast guard once again intervened.
