Well, its no longer hush-hush. Greek sources are reporting Assistant Commissioner David Veness of Scotland Yard (London Metropolitan Police) is helping in the Greek investigation of the November 17 terror group. Veness is described as an anti-terrorist detective. Britain has a special interest in November 17 since the organization is believed to be responsible for the murder of Brigadier Stephen Saunders (June 8, 2000). The first suspect arrested by the Greeks, Savvas Xiros, has an unusual job. The man paints religious icons. But maybe it isnt so odd. November 17, despite its leftward rhetoric, is in fact a Greek ultra-nationalist outfit. It opposes the European Union, and almost everything else.
