Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Momcilo Persic (also sometimes spelled Perisic) and an unidentified US diplomat were arrested by Serb military police on charges of spying. No kidding. The men were having dinner in a public restaurant when the arrests occurred. Persic is a former chief of staff of the Yugoslav Army. He advised the US in 1998 that the Yugoslav Army was not entirely behind Milosevic. Milosevic forced him to resign. Persic now heads the Movement for a Democratic Serbia political party.
