France is working hard to restore relations with Turkey (damaged by the French parliament's condemnation of the Turks for the genocide of the Armenians decades ago). The Turks had been set to buy French avionics to upgrade their F-16s, but cancelled the deal after the uproar. The French have sent a high level delegation (Defense Minister Richard and Foreign Minister Vedrine) to Turkey to beg for the deal to be reinstated, and may have been successful.--Stephen V Cole
