On January 29, Albanian Prime Minister Ilir Meta resigned,. Basically, the Albanian government has been locked in a feud between the old Communist party (Now the Socialist Party) and the opposition Democratic Party (Albanian Democratic Party). That political crisis may become a financial crisis. The IMF said that Albania may lose IMF financial support for infrastructure projects unless the political situation stabilizes.
