RFE reported that several regional nations make replace SFOR in Bosnia. The discussion of such a force surfaced at the Southeast European Defense Ministers Meeting this month. (The group includes defense representatives from Albania, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, and Italy.) A letter from US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to the group suggested that the Multinational Peace Force Southeastern Europe (MPFSE), which is headquartered in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, should begin replacing some of the SFOR troops.
