Serb source reported unidentified gunmen ambushed a Serb police unit in south Serbia, near the Kosovo border. Two Serb policemen were slain. The attack took place on the night of August 3 near the village of Muhovac. This is the most serious incident since the UCPMB vacated the area earlier this summer. A subsequent press report said that Serb authorities believed the attack was conducted by a renegade splinter group of the UCPMB.
