Bulgaria announced that it would not send troops into Macedonia. As this happened after a meeting with the Albanian defense minister, it was assumed that Albania had asked Bulgaria to send troops into Macedonia to protect ethnic Albanians. Bulgaria said it would accept a role in an international force introduced into Macedonia, should one be called for in the future.--Stephen V Cole
